Welcome Rev. Pierce L. Harper, Sr.
The Cheatom Park Neighborhood Association is pleased to welcome Rev. Pierce L. Harper, Sr., his wife Ashlon, and their family to Des Moines and to our neighborhood. Rev. Harper was appointed Pastor of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in August 2025, coming to us from Bethel Madison AME Church in Illinois, where he served faithfully until his new appointment.
Rev. Harper brings with him a strong passion for ministry, community service, and collaboration. With years of leadership experience in the AME Church and beyond, he is committed to strengthening faith, building resilience, and walking alongside communities to create opportunities for growth.
We are excited to celebrate his leadership at St. Paul AME Church and look forward to working together with him and the congregation to continue building a vibrant, welcoming, and united neighborhood.
